Through pushing the boundaries of self portraits in my project Experimentations With My Representation I became interested in altering my appearance in the photograph to investigate mirroring in relation to identity. Through diptychs, double exposures, masks, and actual mirrors I used doubling to create a separation between reality and the mirrored reality or surrealness that comes with the repetitiveness through one's own images. Though these are self portraits, they do not look at intimacy and vulnerability rather they embody the distance between myself and the viewer. The distance of seeing yet not being able to touch. The distance of the glare, the reflection, the mask, and the surreal.
